TRIPLEPLAY Chow necklace TRIPLE PLAY is another one of those completely unique designs from anything else I've done in the show. It has the impact of my larger statement necklaces, yet in more of a medium size…and still light as a feather to wear. I created the center motif first from polymer clay, then layered on a handsculpted chow which was carved with a darning needle. The coat texture really shows up nicely on her, especially agains the banded black and metallic rose background. Under the chow is a 1/4" vintage Swarovski crystal, inlaid into the pendant. the bail echos the circle pattern which the cord passes through. The side beads also are hand made and slide independently on the cord so the necklace self adjusts to the contours of your neckline. A really fun piece full of glimmer and color. The pink/rose areas were dyed with alcohol inks and crackled with silver leaf as well! CENTER MEDALLION MEASURES 2 1/2 X 2 Neoprene cord is finished at the back with chain and adjusts from 16-20" long.
JADE TALISMAN I created JADE TALISMAN on Chinese New Year 2012 because this is the Year of the Dragon!!! This is a fully beaded neck piece and earrings set which starts with the beautiful large Chinese replica coin ...it's actually a vintage replica from the1950s. Dangling below the main focal is also another smaller replica coin. Nestled at the bottom of this perfect 'stage' I hand sculpted a tiny Faux Jade Dragon and Chow puppy, cuddling together in celebration of the lunar new year. THE POTTING SHED I kind of went crazy on the details with this one…as in one of those cross my eye moods I guess, but was totally worth the time spent! I do believe I was thinking about Gracie when I did this….look at that face!!! This is exactly how Gracie would lay and watch me while I did my transplanting in the garden. It always looked like her eyes were shut but she was carefully studying my every move….waiting for the opportunity to grab a crunchy plastic pot or unplant my plantings. Bless her little soul. The piece is entirely handsculpted using a knitting needle etc, and the background behind the chow is riddled with 10 Swarovski crystals with silvery facets! Below dangles a handcarved bone charm which I purchased in Botswana Africa. On the chain above there are more bone beads and 2 large faceted crystals which you can remove or add to on my new changeable chain.
